Samsung is about to launch the new Galaxy S24 series!
Samsung Galaxy S24 Unpacked event is taking place on Wednesday, January 17, at the SAP center in San Jose, California. It is expected that Samsung will reveal its new flagship device, The Samsung S24. The new model is anticipated to have a bigger 6.2 screen which is 0.1 inches bigger than the Galaxy S23’s. Even though the models are slightly different in size, they should look almost identical when placed next to each other.
As regular there will be three different models of the same flagship; The regular S24, S24 Plus and S24 Ultra. The regular model will certainly come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. It is also expected to include a larger 4000 mAh battery which will be an increase of 100 mAh compared to S23.
All three Galaxy 24 models should have Android 14 pre-installed with Samsung UI version 6 or most probably the new 6.1. It is said that S24 will have a flat screen without curved edges, resulting in slimmer bezels. The camera installed on S24 and S24+ is said to be 50 MP main lens, 2x and 3x optical zoom option and 30x space zoom. The battery capacity of S24+ is also increased from 4700 mAh to 4900 mAh.
As always, most specifications on S24 and S24+ are likely the same except the screen size and display quality; S24 Plus will have a 6.7 inch screen, up from 6.6-inch screen on the Galaxy S23 Plus. Meanwhile the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to have the most significant changes compared to the previous generations.
The new S24 Ultra design featured a titanium frame, flat screen with no edges, and slimmer bezels. The device will have a 6.8-inch WQHD display with a1440p resolution mark. The titanium frame should reduce the weight of the S24 Ultra’s by 10% compared to previous models. The S24 Ultra is expected to have significant camera improvements as well. It’s likely to have a quad-camera setup on the rear, including a 200MP primary camera, 50MP and 10Mp telephoto cameras and a 12MP ultrawide camera. There are a lot of debates about whether the 10x optical zoom will remain, or if Samsung will take a downstep to 5x. However, the battery capacity of S24 Ultra has not changed and it is as previous model 5000 mAh.
In terms of pricing, Samsung will not follow in the footsteps of Apple by raising prices. This means the base model S24 will start at 800$, with S24+ starting at 1,000$ and the flagship S24 Ultra priced at 1,200$ at least.
